Metamagnetics Integrates Lanthanide Solutions to Secure Rare Earth Supply

Metamagnetics Inc. announced the integration of Lanthanide Solutions Inc. as a wholly owned subsidiary in a press release. Lanthanide Solutions is a security-cleared company specializing in rare earth element recycling, recovery, and magnet manufacturing. The integration establishes a fully domestic platform that connects materials recovery, magnetic components, and radio frequency system performance.

The move supports Metamagnetics' goal of building a vertically integrated supply chain for critical materials used in defense and aerospace systems. Lanthanide Solutions applies a non-mining model that recovers rare earth elements from end-of-life scrap using proprietary low-waste technologies. This approach is designed to provide full traceability and reduce environmental impact compared to conventional mining.

Metamagnetics said the combined organization will operate from Massachusetts and focus on supplying defense and aerospace markets that require qualified and secure materials. The company plans to expand its materials operations into sectors such as clean energy, electric vehicles, communications, and advanced electronics. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
