Meta Introduces AI Features to Facebook Dating

September 22, 2025
Meta has announced new AI features for Facebook Dating, including a dating assistant and a 'Meet Cute' feature, to help users avoid swipe fatigue.

Meta has introduced new AI-driven features to Facebook Dating, aiming to alleviate 'swipe fatigue' among users. In a press release, the company unveiled a 'dating assistant' and a 'Meet Cute' feature. The dating assistant is a chatbot designed to help users find matches tailored to their specific preferences, such as searching for a 'Brooklyn girl in tech.' It also offers profile enhancement suggestions and dating ideas.

The 'Meet Cute' feature provides users with a weekly surprise match, selected through a personalized algorithm, offering a fresh alternative to traditional swiping. These features are currently being rolled out in the US and Canada, targeting young adults aged 18 to 29, a demographic that has seen a 10% increase in matches year-over-year on Facebook Dating.

These enhancements are part of Meta's broader strategy to integrate AI into its services, as seen in other dating platforms like Tinder and Hinge, which have also adopted AI features to improve user experience.
