Mercor, an AI training startup, is currently in discussions with investors for a Series C funding round. The company is targeting a valuation of over $10 billion, significantly up from its previous $2 billion valuation during a Series B round in February 2025. Mercor's business model involves connecting domain experts with AI labs to assist in model training, generating revenue through an hourly finder's fee and matching rate.

The company, founded in 2022, is approaching a $450 million annualized revenue run rate. Existing investor Felicis is considering increasing its stake in the company. Mercor has also brought on new investors through special purpose vehicles to raise funds for the potential deal.

Mercor plans to expand its business model by adding more software infrastructure for reinforcement learning and launching an AI-powered recruiting marketplace. Despite facing competition from other firms like Surge AI and Turing Labs, Mercor continues to attract substantial investment interest.
