Lightmatter Shows 204.8 Tbps Optical Switch and 102.4 Tbps XPU Trays
Lightmatter unveiled a 204.8 Tbps co packaged optics switch tray and a 102.4 Tbps XPU tray at the 2026 OCP Global Summit, the company said in a press release. Both systems fit in one rack unit and follow Open Rack Version 3 and Modular Hardware System specifications from the Open Compute Project Foundation.
The switch tray is a production validation platform developed with Flex. It contains eight Passage bidirectional optical engines, uses Guide DR laser modules and places the components in a liquid cooled chassis.
The separate XPU prototype contains four accelerator chips and two CPUs, with four Passage engines providing 102.4 Tbps of combined optical bandwidth. Its optical connections replace copper links and connect as the tray slides into the rack.
SENKO supplied fiber arrays and connector technology for the systems. The XPU tray also uses expanded beam optical connector technology from Corning Incorporated.
