Laplace Intelligence uses AI agents to stress test robots and autonomous vehicles
Laplace Intelligence is building automated safety testing for robots and autonomous vehicles, according to TechCrunch. Its AI agents generate difficult scenarios and probe physical AI systems for failures before deployment.
The company reconstructs locations in a simulation based on Nvidia's Cosmos platform. It combines sources such as map data, street images, traffic information and collision reports to create environments and test cases. Developers can also use language prompts to modify conditions, such as traffic levels.
Laplace was founded by University of Michigan researchers Howie Sun and Henry Liu. Its customers include Isuzu, Bot Auto and Nvidia. The company is also working with Nvidia and T-Mobile on a traffic operations pilot in San Jose, California, and is exploring warehouse robotics projects.
