Kong launches Volcano infrastructure platform for AI agents

Kong announces Volcano in a press release, a platform for building, deploying and operating AI agents and web applications. It combines compute, PostgreSQL databases, file storage, authentication and real time services in one system.

Volcano includes durable workflows, scheduled jobs, database branching, backups, vector support and edge functions. It also provides frontend hosting through a global content delivery network, user authentication, single sign on, messaging, queues, locks and optional human approvals.

The platform integrates with Claude Code, OpenAI Codex and Cursor. It also works with Kong Konnect for managing AI agents and connectivity, while compute sandbox availability will follow the initial release. Volcano is separate from the VolcanoSDK introduced in 2025.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?

Tensordyne

This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
