Kong Introduces Context Mesh to Connect Enterprise APIs with AI Agents

February 13, 2026
Kong Inc. has launched Context Mesh, a tool that converts enterprise APIs into agent-ready resources to simplify integration for AI agents, now available in tech preview for Konnect deployments.

Kong Inc. has launched Context Mesh, a platform feature that connects enterprise APIs to AI agents by transforming existing APIs into agent-ready tools, announced in a press release. The new product aims to automate the discovery, transformation, and deployment of APIs for agentic AI use cases.

Context Mesh leverages data already stored in the Kong Konnect platform, such as endpoints, authentication rules, and policies, to enable automatic API discovery and integration. It can generate Model Context Protocol (MCP) tool definitions, apply existing access controls, and deploy agent tools through the Kong AI Gateway with runtime governance.

Each toolkit is registered in the Kong MCP Registry, allowing organization-wide discovery and reuse. The system supports policy enforcement, including rate limiting and conditional routing, to ensure consistent security and performance.

Context Mesh is currently available in tech preview for Konnect users and integrates with Kong’s existing AI Connectivity suite, including MCP Registry and AI Gateway, to provide end-to-end governance for enterprises adopting agentic AI architectures.
