KLIPY Raises $3.8 Million and Joins Google AI Futures Fund
KLIPY has raised 3.8 million dollars and joined the Google AI Futures Fund to expand its expression API layer for GIFs, memes, stickers, clips, and AI media according to a press release.
The San Francisco based company provides an API that allows developers to integrate expressive media and AI tools into social and creative platforms such as BeReal, Baidu, Canva, Figma, and Microsoft SwiftKey. Its system supports content distribution and management for creators, brands, and rights holders, processing billions of requests each week.
KLIPY plans to use the funding to expand its product, engineering, and sales teams, and to develop new monetization and creative tools. The company is also building infrastructure for contextual advertising to help partner applications generate revenue while maintaining content control and user privacy.
The funding round included participation from I2BF, Silvercircle VC, Sturgeon Capital, Red Swan Ventures, Intuition Ventures, Capra Ventures partner Yash Patel, and former NBA player Zaza Pachulia. KLIPY was founded by Givi Beridze, Frank Nawabi, and Waska Chaduneli, whose previous ventures include Tenor, a GIF sharing platform acquired by Google in 2018.
