Kennedys and Spellbook Launch AI-Focused Legal Training Program

October 08, 2025
Kennedys has partnered with Spellbook to introduce a legal training program aimed at equipping junior lawyers with skills for an AI-driven future, according to a press release.

Kennedys has partnered with Spellbook to launch a new legal training program designed to prepare junior lawyers for an AI-driven future. Announced in a press release, the initiative aims to address the challenges posed by automation and AI, which are increasingly taking over traditional entry-level tasks such as first-draft contract preparation and document review.

The program, set to launch later this year, will combine Kennedys' expertise in legal practice with Spellbook's advanced AI technology. It will feature simulated scenarios and AI-assisted drafting exercises to replicate learning opportunities that may diminish as AI becomes more prevalent in the legal field. Participants will receive structured feedback, similar to the coaching traditionally provided by senior colleagues.

John Bruce, Senior Partner at Kennedys, emphasized the importance of creating AI-fluent lawyers who can integrate deep legal reasoning with AI tools. Scott Stevenson, CEO of Spellbook, highlighted the program as a necessary step in preparing lawyers for an AI-powered future, ensuring they lead rather than just adapt to technological changes.

The collaboration marks one of the first large-scale efforts in the legal sector to directly address the impact of AI on early-career training, with plans to pilot the program in Kennedys' US and UK offices.
