KBR Wins $200 Million Contract to Modernize U.S. Transportation with AI
KBR announced that its Mission Technology Solutions division was awarded a recompete contract worth up to $200 million to enhance aviation safety and modernize U.S. transportation systems. The agreement was made with the U.S. Department of Transportation's Volpe National Transportation Systems Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts, according to a press release.
The five-year Transportation, Technology and Engineering Mission Solutions (TTEMS) contract will involve engineering services, AI, machine learning, web frameworks, modeling, simulation, big data, and analytics. Work will take place in Cambridge and other global locations under a Blanket Purchase Agreement issued through the General Services Administration Multiple Award Schedule program.
KBR will support multiple transportation agencies, including the Federal Aviation Administration, Federal Highway Administration, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. The company’s work will include developing intelligent transportation systems that enable vehicle and infrastructure communication, improving aviation safety oversight platforms, and analyzing commercial truck safety data.
KBR has collaborated with the Volpe Center for more than 15 years, providing technology and engineering services to improve safety and efficiency across transportation networks.
