JumpCloud Warns of Security Risks from Agentic AI

September 23, 2025
JumpCloud has released an e-book highlighting the security risks of agentic AI, emphasizing the need for governance and oversight.

JumpCloud has released a new e-book titled "Who Let the Bot In? Control Agentic AI Before It Goes Too Far," addressing the urgent safety, security, and governance challenges posed by agentic AI. Announced in a press release, the e-book highlights the risks associated with the autonomy of agentic AI, which operates like a digital coworker, unlike traditional software that follows commands.

The report reveals a significant gap in governance, with 82% of organizations using AI agents but only 44% having formal policies to manage them. This disconnect leaves companies vulnerable to new threats, such as unintended data loss and compliance violations. Joel Rennich, JumpCloud's senior vice president of product management, emphasized the need for "identity-first" governance, treating AI agents as digital identities with oversight similar to human employees.

The e-book serves as a guide for IT and security leaders to understand the unique risks of agentic AI and establish proactive governance measures. It includes a Risk Readiness Checklist to help organizations assess their preparedness for these emerging challenges.
