Jack Demmer Launches Drone Parts Delivery in Metro Detroit

Jack Demmer Automotive Group, blueflite, and Airspace Link have launched an autonomous drone delivery program for automotive parts in metro Detroit with support from a $740,000 Michigan grant.

Jack Demmer Automotive Group, blueflite, and Airspace Link have launched an autonomous drone delivery program for automotive parts in metro Detroit, Airspace Link said in a press release.

The program is backed by a $740,000 grant from Michigan's Advanced Air Mobility Activation Fund. It will use drones to deliver high demand parts within a 12 mile radius of Jack Demmer Ford dealerships in Southeast Michigan.

The companies said pilot test flights in metro Detroit have been completed and the project is moving into live commercial operations. The Ann Arbor to Detroit drone corridor will serve as the operating area.

Airspace Link's AirHub Drone Operations Management System will handle airspace coordination, operational oversight, and safety compliance. blueflite will provide its autonomous tiltrotor UAV platform for the deliveries.
