Innatera Uses Synopsys Simulation to Scale Neuromorphic Edge Processors
Innatera has selected Synopsys simulation technology to design and validate its next generation of neuromorphic microcontrollers for edge AI applications, announced in a press release. The collaboration will support the development of low-power processors for wearables, smart home devices, robotics, and industrial sensors.
Innatera will use Synopsys' PathFinder-SC and Totem platforms to ensure electrostatic discharge protection and power integrity in its neuromorphic chips. These tools enable detailed modeling of electrical behavior, allowing designers to identify potential vulnerabilities and optimize performance before manufacturing.
The technology will be applied to Innatera’s Pulsar microcontroller, which uses spiking neural networks to process sensor data efficiently. Pulsar is designed to deliver real-time, ultra-low-power AI processing, achieving significantly lower latency and energy consumption compared to conventional processors.
According to Synopsys, the partnership will allow Innatera to scale production of its brain-inspired processors and accelerate the deployment of adaptive AI capabilities across sensor-rich environments.
