IFS Says Industrial Workers Lose 41 Percent of Time to Repetitive Tasks

IFS says new research from The Futurum Group found that industrial workers lose 41 percent of their time to manual, repetitive tasks, with many companies planning to invest in AI digital workers.
IFS said in a press release that research from The Futurum Group found industrial workers lose 41% of their time to manual, repetitive tasks. The company said 77% of decision makers have delayed or avoided a strategic initiative because their teams lacked capacity.
The research found that 66% of decision makers are likely to invest in digital workers within a year. It also found that only 5.7% trust AI to act fully autonomously, and 10% of enterprises run mostly autonomous AI.
IFS said its IFS Loops Agentic Platform lets companies create and deploy digital workers that automate 60% of agentic transactions from start to finish. The remaining 40% include human review and approval steps.
Customers named in the release include Kitron Group, KLN Family Brands, and Ependion. IFS said Kitron Group is rolling out purchase to order digital workers across all 13 sites by the end of 2026, while Ependion brought its Supply Order Manager digital worker live company wide in a 10 week rollout.
