IBM and Dallara Collaborate on AI and Quantum Design for High Performance Vehicles
IBM and Dallara announced in a press release a collaboration to advance vehicle design and optimization using AI and quantum computing. The partnership combines Dallara's expertise in high performance vehicle engineering with IBM's work in AI for physics and quantum computing.
The companies are developing new physics-based AI foundation models. One early model was trained on Dallara's proprietary aerodynamic data for a high performance vehicle. Initial results indicate that aerodynamic simulation time could be reduced from many hours to a few minutes, allowing engineers to test more design options earlier in the development process.
IBM and Dallara are also exploring how quantum computing can be integrated into design workflows to further enhance simulation accuracy for complex aerodynamic problems.
