Ibeos Genie Processor Completes U.S. Space Force Mission

Ibeos says its Genie Space Edge Processor operated during the U.S. Space Force Victus Haze mission and has achieved space heritage.

Ibeos, a Trident Systems company, announced in a press release that its Genie Space Edge Processor operated during the U.S. Space Force Victus Haze mission and has achieved space heritage.

The company said the mission qualifies Genie as a flight proven edge computing platform for onboard processing in national security, commercial, and civil space missions. The processor is designed to handle computer vision autonomy and rendezvous and proximity operations processing in orbit.

Genie is based on a Ryzen GPU and supports AI and machine learning inference, data fusion from multiple sensors, image and signature processing, space domain awareness, and autonomous mission execution.

Ibeos said the platform is built for spacecraft that need to process data where it is collected, reducing communications load and latency. The company also said it has a growing backlog of orders for future defense, commercial, and scientific missions.
