Google Adds Generative AI Performance Reports to Search Console
Google announced on its developer blog the launch of new Search Generative AI performance reports in Search Console. These reports give website owners insights into how their pages appear in generative AI features such as AI Overviews and AI Mode in Search, as well as in Discover.
The new reports include dedicated views that show impressions from generative AI features, along with metrics for pages, countries, devices, and dates. This allows site owners to track how often their URLs appear in AI features and monitor visibility over time.
According to Google, the reports are being rolled out to a subset of websites initially, allowing for testing and feedback before wider availability. Users can provide feedback directly through Search Console or the Google Search Central Community.
The data from these new reports will be integrated into the overall performance report, giving users a comprehensive view of their site’s visibility in both traditional and generative AI search experiences.
