Google has announced the integration of its AI assistant, Gemini, into Google TV, allowing users to engage in natural language conversations and enhance their viewing experience. Announced on their website, this rollout will initially be available on the TCL QM9K series, with plans to expand to other devices later this year.

Gemini on Google TV will enable users to find content more easily by asking questions like "Find me something to watch with my wife. I like dramas, but she likes lighthearted comedies." It also offers the ability to catch up on past seasons of shows or find movies based on vague descriptions. Beyond entertainment, Gemini can assist with educational queries, vacation planning, and learning new skills, all through conversational interactions.

The integration of Gemini does not replace existing Google Assistant functionalities, which will continue to operate alongside the new AI features. This expansion aims to enhance the user experience on over 300 million active Google TV and Android TV OS-powered devices.
