Germany Leads Europe in Robotics with Top Global Rankings

Germany has been identified as Europe's leading nation in robotics, ranking fourth globally in industrial robot density and first in Europe for newly installed robots, according to the International Federation of Robotics 2025 World Report.

The International Federation of Robotics has identified Germany as Europe's leading nation in robotics, ranking fourth globally in industrial robot density with 449 robots per 10,000 manufacturing employees. Announced in a press release, Germany is the only European country in the top five globally across several categories in the 2025 World Report.

Germany also leads Europe in the number of newly installed robots, with 26,982 units, and ranks fifth worldwide in market size, following China, Japan, the United States, and the Republic of Korea. These five countries account for 80% of global robot installations.

The service robot sector in Germany is also experiencing significant growth, with sales in Western Europe increasing by 18% last year, compared to a global growth rate of 9%. The sector is projected to grow by 27% between this year and 2028.

Germany Trade & Invest, the German government agency for international business promotion, highlights Germany's strong appeal as a hub for innovation and advanced manufacturing, with over 450 investment projects in automation and robotics implemented between 2019 and 2024.
