Frontiers Pledges €1.6 Million to Prepare European Research Data for AI
Frontiers announces in a press release that it will provide more than €1.6 million in services to prepare Horizon Europe research data for reuse and AI applications.
Over the next 12 months, the publisher will provide AI powered curation for 1,000 Horizon Europe datasets. Its Clara data steward will identify gaps in documentation, metadata, and provenance, then give researchers guidance for meeting data requirements.
Frontiers will also award 100 FAIR 2 Data Publication Grants to early career researchers. Each grant will cover a peer reviewed, citable, and indexed data article.
The company will open early access to Frontiers Data, where researchers can import or upload datasets, explore them through questions and visualizations, find related data, and prepare datasets for publication. Applications for the grants opened on October 19, 2026.
