Flex Begins U.S. Production of AMD Instinct MI355X AI Platform
Flex has begun manufacturing the AMD Instinct MI355X 8x GPU platform at its Austin, Texas factory, announced in a press release. The facility will also produce future generations of AMD Instinct platforms to support growing AI infrastructure demand in data centers.
The Flex site assembles the full AMD Instinct platform, integrating eight GPUs with PCIe Gen 5 interfaces, high-bandwidth memory, and high-speed interconnect fabric into a single system. Each unit undergoes factory testing and validation using liquid-cooling hardware from JetCool, a Flex company.
Flex's Austin headquarters spans 1.4 million square feet and supports high-volume production with sustainable manufacturing practices. The company plans to ramp up volume production of the MI355X next quarter as part of its broader U.S. manufacturing expansion.
