Embedd.it Launches AI-Enabled Graphical MCU Configurator

September 23, 2025
Embedd.it has introduced a new AI-powered Graphical MCU Configurator, enabling electronics manufacturers to achieve vendor independence and streamline development processes.

Embedd.it has launched its AI-enabled Graphical MCU Configurator, a tool designed to eliminate hardware dependencies in embedded software, announced in a press release. This new tool allows electronics manufacturers to achieve vendor independence, accelerate development, and enhance supply chain resilience.

The configurator supports over 1,400 MCU families from major manufacturers like Renesas, STMicroelectronics, NXP Semiconductors, and Texas Instruments. It provides a unified platform for configuring MCUs and boards, enabling users to visually assign pin functions, configure settings, and generate device trees and overlays. The tool is available as a Visual Studio Code extension and a web-based application, with a self-hosted option for enterprises.

By leveraging AI, the configurator simplifies the process of retrieving and organizing data, allowing engineers to migrate between hardware seamlessly. This capability supports second-sourcing strategies and maintains flexibility in choosing different MCU vendors for product updates. The tool is part of a suite of embedded developer tools powered by the Embedd Data Hub, which centralizes hardware-specific data to streamline embedded software development.
