Elon Musk Announces Grok 3, Claims AI Superiority

Elon Musk reveals Grok 3, asserting it surpasses all AI chatbots in reasoning capabilities, while facing internal disputes at xAI.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and founder of xAI, has announced the upcoming release of Grok 3, the latest version of his AI chatbot. Speaking at the World Governments Summit in Dubai, Musk claimed that Grok 3 surpasses all existing AI chatbots in reasoning capabilities. The AI is expected to be released within one to two weeks.

Musk stated that Grok 3 has been tested extensively and is outperforming all other chatbots currently available. The AI will compete with major players like OpenAI's ChatGPT, Google's Gemini, Anthropic's Claude, Mistral AI, and Meta's Llama. Musk emphasized Grok 3's ability to analyze its own mistakes to improve accuracy.

However, not all feedback has been positive. Benjamin De Kraker, an engineer formerly with xAI, resigned after being asked to delete a social media post where he ranked Grok 3 below other AI models for coding ability. De Kraker claimed his post was a personal opinion and not confidential information.

Musk also criticized OpenAI's shift from a nonprofit to a profit-driven model, following a $97.4 billion bid from a Musk-led group to acquire OpenAI's nonprofit entity. Musk, who co-founded OpenAI in 2015, has since sued the company, arguing it prioritizes profit over its original mission.
