Echola Launches 800G and 1.6T Optical Switches for AI Network Testing

Echola Systems launched the OPX4D-SM and OPX8D-SM Dual LC OptiShare switches for testing GPU cluster networks, according to a company press release. The switches support 800G and 1.6T optical connections through paired duplex LC interfaces in 2×FR4 configurations.

The OPX4D-SM connects test resources to four devices under test, while the OPX8D-SM connects them to eight. Custom configurations support up to 32 devices. Engineers can remotely select connections and share equipment such as bit error rate testers, protocol analyzers and optical interfaces.

Both switches use standard single mode LC fiber cables without breakout cables. They operate at the physical optical layer without optical to electrical conversion, packet processing or electrical signal regeneration. Remote management is available through an HTTPS interface, SSH command line interface and REST APIs.
