ECARX and TPK to Develop ORCA LiDAR Platform for Global Markets
ECARX Holdings and TPK Holding have signed a memorandum of business cooperation to jointly develop the ORCA LiDAR platform, announced in a press release. The agreement marks ECARX's entry into the LiDAR sector, combining its system integration capabilities with TPK's optical manufacturing expertise.
The ORCA LiDAR platform is designed to meet global regulatory and safety standards for use in advanced driver assistance and autonomous driving systems. ECARX will lead system integration, sensor fusion, and global commercialization, while TPK will handle optical design and large scale component production.
Manufacturing of the ORCA platform is scheduled to begin in 2028 at TPK's facility in Thailand. The platform will support vehicle manufacturers and robotaxi fleets, targeting both premium passenger cars and scalable autonomous mobility solutions.
