The Department of Health Abu Dhabi and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on cancer research and personalized prevention using Abu Dhabi's AI health infrastructure and genomic data systems.

Department of Health Abu Dhabi and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on cancer research and personalized prevention, announced in a press release.

The partnership will combine Abu Dhabi's unified clinical and genomic data infrastructure, sovereign AI capabilities, and governed data environments with Fred Hutch's research expertise. The collaboration aims to accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into patient care by leveraging Abu Dhabi's intelligent health system and Fred Hutch's research tools.

The agreement builds on Abu Dhabi's national liquid biopsy program and multi cancer early detection initiatives, as well as its large scale genomics program with nearly one million genomes sequenced. During a visit to Fred Hutch, HE Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Department of Health Abu Dhabi, highlighted that the collaboration is intended to advance prevention and early detection capabilities within the emirate.

Fred Hutch President and Director Thomas Lynch Jr. stated that the organizations will combine their datasets and research to identify new approaches to cancer prevention, diagnosis, and care.
