Denver Survey Finds Safety Concerns Limit Interest in Waymo
Olson Personal Injury Lawyers said in a press release that its survey found widespread safety concerns about Waymo following the service's September 1 public launch in Denver. The firm surveyed 100 Denver County residents aged 18 to 64 during September 2026.
Respondents rated Waymo's commitment to public safety at 3.8 out of 10 and perceived ride safety at 4.0. Forty one percent said they were unlikely to use the service, while 61% identified safety as the main factor in their decision, compared with 13% for price and 9% for access to a human representative.
Fifty seven percent said access to comprehensive safety data would increase their confidence, and 49% cited transparent accident reporting. Seventy four percent said Waymo should be responsible if one of its vehicles causes an accident, while 62% were uncomfortable with the collection or storage of video footage.
Olson Personal Injury Lawyers is a personal injury law firm, and the sample of 100 residents is small.
