CTM and Huawei Plan AI Network Security Upgrades in Macao
Macao telecom operator CTM and Huawei are developing network security capabilities that use AI analytics and quantum key distribution, Huawei said in a press release. CTM presented the plans at Network X 2026 in Vienna.
CTM plans to combine network telemetry with AI analytics in its AGW 2.0 architecture. The system will identify service requirements, direct traffic to suitable paths and automate network optimization for applications that need low latency and high reliability.
The operator also plans to build security functions into network devices and use behavior analysis to identify abnormal activity. CTM intends to offer pooled services such as DDoS protection, intrusion prevention and anti phishing tools to government and enterprise customers.
CTM and Huawei are also testing an IP network architecture that integrates quantum key distribution with communications infrastructure. The companies say this work will support validation and planning for quantum safe data transmission in critical industries.
