Cockroach Labs has announced that its distributed SQL database, CockroachDB, is now available in the IBM Cloud catalog and supported on IBM Power processor-based systems, offering enterprises a unified data platform across hybrid environments.

Cockroach Labs announced in a press release that IBM clients can now access CockroachDB through the IBM Cloud catalog, with full support for IBM Power processor-based servers. The integration allows enterprises to deploy CockroachDB across IBM Power Systems and IBM Cloud, maintaining consistency with workloads running on premises.

The collaboration provides a path for organizations to adopt distributed SQL within IBM’s ecosystem. Customers can procure and deploy CockroachDB directly through IBM Cloud agreements, including committed spend, and receive IBM-backed support and service-level agreements.

By combining IBM Power Systems and IBM Cloud with CockroachDB’s distributed architecture, enterprises can modernize existing infrastructure while enabling consistent data operations across hybrid environments. The offering supports both traditional transactional workloads and emerging AI applications that require distributed, consistent, and scalable data management.
