ClerkMinutes Launches National Meeting Minutes Day for Municipal Clerks

April 30, 2026
ClerkMinutes, built by HeyGov, will host National Meeting Minutes Day on May 6, offering over 34,000 municipal clerks free access to its AI platform to generate meeting minutes in under ten minutes.

ClerkMinutes, developed by HeyGov, has announced the first National Meeting Minutes Day, according to a press release. The event will take place on May 6 during Professional Municipal Clerks Week and aims to give more than 34,000 municipal clerks nationwide free, 24-hour access to the ClerkMinutes platform.

The initiative represents what the company describes as the largest single-day AI deployment in local government. Participating clerks will be able to use ClerkMinutes without signup or payment to process meeting minutes in less than ten minutes. The platform automatically transcribes recorded sessions, identifies speakers, captures motions and votes, and generates meeting minutes.

ClerkMinutes is already used by over 450 municipalities across the United States and has processed tens of thousands of meeting hours. The company states that clerks using the tool save an average of five to eight hours per meeting cycle. The platform is part of HeyGov's suite of digital tools for local governments, which also includes HeyLicense, Hey311, HeyGov Pay, and HeyReserve.

National Meeting Minutes Day is intended to highlight how AI can simplify one of the most time-intensive responsibilities in local government: producing accurate and timely meeting records.
