October 31, 2025
Clarivate has introduced two new AI-powered tools within its Innography platform: the AI Classifier for patent portfolio benchmarking and the SEP Analyzer for standard essential patent analysis. The tools aim to accelerate portfolio strategy and licensing decisions.

Clarivate has launched two new AI-powered tools within its Innography platform, announced in a press release. The new additions—Innography AI Classifier and Innography SEP Analyzer—are designed to enhance patent portfolio benchmarking and streamline standard essential patent (SEP) negotiations.

The Innography AI Classifier uses supervised machine learning and large language models to categorize patents with up to 97% accuracy. It operates with or without training data, enabling professionals to classify portfolios quickly and consistently using data from the Derwent World Patents Index.

The Innography SEP Analyzer normalizes and categorizes SEP data, providing visual summaries for easier comparison and reporting. It helps patent strategists and licensing professionals assess competitor portfolios and support licensing discussions more efficiently.

Clarivate stated that both tools aim to accelerate decision-making in patent portfolio management and commercialization by combining AI capabilities with enriched data resources.
