Civitas ID Launches Digital Identity Platform for Displaced Populations

Civitas ID has introduced a digital identity platform aimed at aiding displaced populations, announced at the 80th UN General Assembly.

Civitas ID has launched a new digital identity technology platform designed to support displaced populations, announced in a press release at the 80th UN General Assembly in New York. The platform aims to assist 123 million displaced individuals worldwide in achieving economic self-sufficiency, potentially unlocking $700 billion in economic potential.

The platform addresses the 'invisibility crisis' faced by migrants and displaced populations who lack legally recognized identity documentation, which hinders their access to formal employment and financial services. By leveraging mobile platforms, biometrics, verified credentials, AI, and DPI integrations, Civitas ID seeks to connect humanitarian efforts with economic opportunities through a human-centered, localized approach.

Civitas ID collaborates with public and private stakeholders to integrate verified credentials into service provider systems, facilitating access to essential services. The initiative prioritizes privacy and data sovereignty, employing a country-by-country multi-stakeholder partnership model. The official launch was marked by events at the UN General Assembly, highlighting the urgency of inclusive digital identity solutions as part of the 2030 Agenda.
