Cisco Expands AI Infrastructure Portfolio with NVIDIA Collaboration

October 29, 2025
Cisco has unveiled new AI infrastructure solutions developed with NVIDIA, including the N9100 series data center switch and a Cloud Partner-compliant reference architecture for neocloud and sovereign cloud customers. The updates also extend to enterprise and telecom sectors with new security, observability, and 6G-ready networking capabilities.

Cisco introduced new AI infrastructure solutions developed in collaboration with NVIDIA, announced in a press release. The updates include the Cisco N9100 series data center switch, the first NVIDIA partner-developed switch using NVIDIA Spectrum-X Ethernet silicon, and a Cloud Partner-compliant reference architecture for neocloud and sovereign cloud environments.

The N9100 series supports both Cisco NX-OS and SONiC operating systems, offering customers greater flexibility in building and managing AI networks. The new Cisco Cloud Reference Architecture is based on NVIDIA’s Cloud Partner design principles and integrates Cisco Silicon One-based switches with embedded Spectrum-X capabilities. These solutions aim to simplify the deployment and scaling of AI infrastructure across cloud and enterprise settings.

For enterprise customers, the Cisco Secure AI Factory with NVIDIA expands security and observability integrations, including Cisco AI Defense with NVIDIA NeMo Guardrails and Splunk Observability Cloud for monitoring AI workloads. Cisco also introduced new hardware options for AI PODs, such as UCS 880A M8 servers with NVIDIA HGX B300 and UCS X-Series modular servers with NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 GPUs.

In the telecom sector, Cisco, NVIDIA, and industry partners launched the first AI-native wireless stack designed for 6G networks. This stack combines Cisco’s core networking software with NVIDIA’s AI Aerial platform to enable AI-driven mobile networks and next-generation connectivity solutions.

These advancements extend Cisco Systems, Inc.’s and NVIDIA’s ongoing partnership, providing unified architectures for scalable, secure, and high-performance AI data centers.
