Chinese EV Makers Geely and Voyah Integrate DeepSeek AI for Enhanced Smart Vehicles
Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers Geely and Voyah have announced the integration of DeepSeek AI technology into their vehicles. Geely, known for brands like Volvo and Polestar, is incorporating DeepSeek's datasets into its in-house AI model, "Full-Domain AI for Smart Vehicles," to enhance features such as voice commands and autonomous driving. This integration will be achieved through distillation training, which uses outputs from a larger AI model to improve a smaller one.
Voyah, a subsidiary of Dongfeng Motors, is also adopting DeepSeek AI in its Courage SUV and Dream MPV models. Starting February 14, the Courage model will receive an over-the-air update to enable AI-powered features like real-time information retrieval and interactive capabilities. This makes the Courage the first production vehicle to feature DeepSeek's technology.
The integration of DeepSeek AI reflects a broader trend in the Chinese automotive industry, where companies are leveraging AI and cloud computing to enhance the competitiveness of new energy vehicles. Geely's "Smart Geely 2025" strategy aims to accelerate the adoption of advanced AI technologies, including intelligent driving systems and AI digital chassis.
Both Geely and Voyah's efforts highlight the growing influence of DeepSeek AI across various sectors, as Chinese companies rapidly deploy the technology to stay competitive amid global AI advancements.
