China Dominates AI Data Center Patent Filings, PatentVest Report Reveals
China is leading the global race in AI data center patent filings, accounting for 77% of all submissions worldwide, announced in a press release by PatentVest. The report, titled "AI-Driven Data Centers – The Patent Race Reshaping AI Infrastructure," provides an in-depth analysis of the rapidly evolving AI data center market.
The report highlights the significant role of AI-driven data centers in addressing the growing demands of enterprise data generation, projected to reach 1.2 million exabytes by 2025. These data centers are integrating advanced technologies such as AI-specific semiconductors, high-speed interconnects, and renewable energy solutions to enhance efficiency and scalability.
PatentVest identifies China as a dominant player, with five of the top patent holders in AI-driven data centers originating from the country. This underscores China's influential position in shaping next-generation AI infrastructure. The report also notes the strategic importance of intellectual property in this sector, with companies racing to secure foundational technologies and establish industry standards.
The AI data center market, valued at $71.92 billion in 2022, is expected to grow to $431.43 billion by 2030, driven by the increasing demand for AI-optimized infrastructure and innovations in energy-efficient computing.
