ChatGPT Integrated into Viber Through Global Partnership
Rakuten Viber and OpenAI announced in a press release a partnership bringing ChatGPT directly into the Viber messaging app. The integration provides users with free access to ChatGPT-powered tools without needing to leave the platform.
The new features allow users to interact with ChatGPT as a dedicated contact and through a new tab in the app. Users can tag ChatGPT in conversations for tasks such as message drafting, image remixing, or generating summaries. The release also mentions link summarization, translation, and chat summary capabilities.
Viber users can access the new features by updating their app to the latest version. The company noted that privacy safeguards remain in place, with all calls and messages continuing to use end-to-end encryption.
