The partnership focuses on advancing artificial intelligence, sustainability research, and experiential learning within the food service and hospitality sectors.

Effective since June 5, 2025, the agreement supports joint projects in technology innovation, food safety analysis, executive training, and education programs. The collaboration includes the use of AI to improve menu planning, inventory management, and business flow forecasting, as well as employing robotics and sensors to reduce workplace injuries.

The initiative also creates professional development programs for Chartwells employees and experiential learning opportunities for Northeastern students through co-ops, PhD research, and projects.
