Charbone Outlines 2026–2030 Plan to Expand into Global Industrial Gas Markets

April 14, 2026
Charbone Corporation has announced a five-year strategic plan to evolve from a clean hydrogen producer into a global industrial gas group, with new regional hubs across North America and expansion into Europe and Asia-Pacific.

Charbone Corporation announced in a press release its 2026–2030 strategic plan, outlining its transition from a clean Ultra High Purity (UHP) hydrogen producer to an integrated global industrial gas group. The company aims to expand its portfolio to include UHP and specialty gases, as well as UHP industrial atmospheric gases in North America.

The plan is structured around two main pillars: high-margin UHP and specialty gases such as hydrogen, helium, and electronic gases, and recurring industrial gases including oxygen, nitrogen, argon, and CO2. This dual approach is designed to strengthen recurring revenue streams and improve operational efficiency. Charbone plans to focus its North American expansion along the Northeast and Pacific technology corridors.

The company will continue developing its Sorel-Tracy plant in Quebec as the foundation for its North American operations and intends to establish six to eight regional hubs across North America and international markets. These hubs will standardize operations, improve logistics, and reduce time-to-market.

Charbone also plans targeted international expansion, with a strategic UHP platform in Germany and a regional hub in Malaysia to serve semiconductor and electronics industries. The company will pursue these initiatives through an asset-light model emphasizing partnerships and contract-based growth.
