CGI Expands IT Partnership with SSAB in Finland and Sweden

CGI and SSAB have expanded their strategic IT partnership, with CGI set to deliver business-critical services supporting SSAB operations in Finland and Sweden.

CGI and SSAB have agreed to expand their strategic IT partnership, announced in a press release. The agreement covers the delivery of business-critical IT services supporting SSAB operations in Finland and Sweden.

CGI will provide services to strengthen SSAB's IT infrastructure, improve supply chain resilience, and support digital transformation initiatives. The collaboration builds on more than three decades of cooperation between the two companies.

According to SSAB Europe CIO Jari Penttinen, the partnership aims to maintain business continuity and modernize legacy systems while adopting new technologies such as automation and artificial intelligence. CGI's experience in enterprise resource planning, production systems, and outsourcing services will help SSAB modernize operations and maintain reliability and security.

SSAB operates steel mills in Sweden, Finland, and the United States. CGI, founded in 1976, employs more than 94,000 professionals worldwide and reported fiscal 2025 revenue of 15.91 billion Canadian dollars.
