Celera Unveils AI-Designed Analog IC

Celera has announced the sampling of the first-ever analog integrated circuit (IC) designed entirely by an autonomous software platform, marking a significant milestone in the analog IC industry.

Celera Incorporated has announced the sampling of the first-ever analog integrated circuit (IC) designed entirely by an autonomous software platform, as stated in a press release. Utilizing Celera's ChipHUB platform, the company has achieved a tenfold increase in engineering productivity, enabling the design of a high-performance buck converter from specification to manufacturing release in just days.

Celera's CEO, Pat Brockett, emphasized the significance of this achievement, noting that it demonstrates the feasibility of end-to-end automated design for high-performance analog ICs. The company's COO, Alberto Viviani, highlighted the cost-effectiveness and competitive performance of the designs produced using their patented digital twin Nesto™ technology.

The first customer product, a high voltage step-down converter for industrial and automotive applications, showcases the potential of Celera's technology to simplify analog IC design. This innovation allows even non-IC designers to create custom silicon, with the capability to quickly produce entire families of buck converters.

Celera's approach leverages machine learning models to generate AI agents for analog design, layout, and modeling, positioning the company as a leader in applying AI to analog design. The company's technology is already being utilized by major customers across various sectors, including consumer electronics, data centers, and automotive applications.
