Cantina Introduces Shared Memory Layer for Security Agents
Cantina introduced The Brain in a press release, describing it as a shared context and memory layer for its autonomous security agents. It connects identities, infrastructure, cloud assets, repositories, vulnerabilities, and previous investigations so agents can retain knowledge across security reviews.
The Brain includes a connected environment map, entity reconciliation, structured context, and controls for reviewing proposed facts and checking live sources. It currently supports identities, AWS and Vercel assets, devices managed through mobile device management, repositories, vulnerabilities, and relationships among those entities.
In an observational comparison involving 40 low severity Okta alerts, a workspace using The Brain averaged 170.8 seconds from alert creation to closure, compared with 220.4 seconds for another workspace. It also averaged 12.15 tool calls per alert, compared with 19. Cantina noted that the test was not randomized and that the workspaces used different alerts, histories, and integrations.
