Buildots Introduces AI-Powered Underground Utility Tracking
Buildots has launched an underground utility tracking solution that transforms drone-captured imagery into structured project insights, announced in a press release. The AI-powered feature provides visibility into progress, pace, and potential delays during the earliest stages of construction.
The new capability enables teams to monitor underground utilities such as drainage, power, gas, telecoms, and water infrastructure. It integrates with existing drone workflows and requires only processed drone captures, producing visual overlays, completion percentages, and pace forecasts within Buildots’ platform.
Mortenson Construction piloted the tool on a large data center project in the southern United States. The company reported that the feature offered near real-time visibility, allowing earlier decision-making and improved project alignment.
The underground utility tracking tool is now available to all Buildots customers and is intended for large-scale developments including data centers, healthcare facilities, manufacturing plants, and campus-style projects.
