Bell, Cohere, Hypertec and Buzz HPC Partner on Canadian Sovereign AI Infrastructure
Bell Canada, Cohere, Hypertec Group, and Buzz HPC have announced a major agreement to develop sovereign AI infrastructure in Canada, according to a press release.
The collaboration combines Bell AI Fabric’s data center and connectivity foundation with Cohere’s enterprise AI solutions and large language model capabilities. Buzz HPC will provide a scalable computing platform powered by NVIDIA’s DSX AI factory and built on Canadian-manufactured hardware from Hypertec.
Under the agreement, Bell will supply data center capacity and connectivity from its Merritt, British Columbia facility, designed for advanced AI workloads. Buzz HPC will deliver the AI cloud layer using Hypertec’s hardware and NVIDIA acceleration, while Cohere will operate its foundation models on the platform for government and enterprise customers.
The partnership aims to strengthen Canadian digital sovereignty by ensuring AI research and deployment occur within Canadian infrastructure. It builds on previous collaborations under Bell AI Fabric and the Canadian Sovereign AI Alliance.
