BCG survey finds 40% of employees want more CEO transparency on AI
Boston Consulting Group said in a press release that 40% of employees believe their CEO has not been transparent enough about how AI will affect their roles and career opportunities. Only 15% of CEOs worry that their approach to AI could reduce employee trust.
The survey found that nearly 90% of CEOs believe employees trust their leadership, compared with 46% of employees who agree. Nearly 70% of CEOs also believe employees trust them to prioritize employee wellbeing when funding business priorities, while 36% of employees agree.
Among employees whose trust increased because of their CEO's handling of AI, half said they were more willing to go beyond their normal duties than three months earlier. Fewer than 10% of employees whose trust declined said the same. The research included global surveys of 645 CEOs at companies with at least $100 million in revenue and 500 nonexecutive employees, along with employee perspectives and five years of CEO turnover data from the S&P 1200.
BCG advises companies on strategy and transformation, including how they adopt AI, and the findings rest on what CEOs and employees told its surveys.
