Automation.com and Hikvision Publish White Paper on AI-Powered Video Intelligence in Manufacturing
Automation.com and Hikvision have released a joint white paper exploring how large-scale AI-powered video intelligence is transforming efficiency and safety in smart manufacturing, announced in a press release.
The report describes how AI-enabled video systems, once primarily used for security, now provide continuous visibility into assembly processes, equipment movement, and high-risk areas. These systems generate real-time operational data that can be analyzed to detect anomalies, interpret human–machine interactions, and retrieve specific events using natural-language queries.
The paper highlights several key applications of large-scale AI in manufacturing, including improved campus operations through faster incident verification, enhanced plant safety via automated detection of unsafe conditions, and real-time quality control through video-based inspection of assembly and packaging processes.
According to the white paper, integrating AI-driven video with robotics, automated material handling, and industrial IoT systems will further advance smart manufacturing, enabling predictive and adaptive operations across production environments.
