Anthropic has successfully raised $3.5 billion in a Series E funding round, reaching a post-money valuation of $61.5 billion. This funding round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from notable investors such as Bessemer Venture Partners, Cisco Investments, and Salesforce Ventures, among others announced in a press release.

The newly acquired funds will be directed towards advancing Anthropic's development of next-generation AI systems, expanding its compute capacity, and accelerating its international expansion. The company is also focusing on deepening its research in mechanistic interpretability and alignment.

This announcement follows the recent launch of Claude 3.7 Sonnet and Claude Code, which have demonstrated significant advancements in coding capabilities. Anthropic's AI systems are being adopted by various industries, with companies like Zoom and Pfizer leveraging Claude to enhance their operations.
