Anthropic Pitches Federal AI Safety Bill to Lawmakers
Anthropic representatives have privately presented lawmakers with a draft bill covering frontier AI safety and security, according to Politico. The proposal would limit when the government could block the release or use of an advanced model and would override some state AI safety laws.
Under the draft, the government could intervene only if a model poses a foreseeable and imminent risk of more than $1 billion in damages, or could kill or seriously injure more than 50 people. The risk also must involve the creation or release of a biological weapon, a model evading its developer's controls, or a cyberattack.
Anthropic said the draft reflects proposals in its Advanced AI Framework, which it has promoted to federal and state lawmakers since June. The thresholds resemble provisions in California's SB 53, which became law last year.

Tensordyne Napier: What If One Rack Could Do the Work of Nine?
Tensordyne
This Tensordyne whitepaper presents Napier, an inference-focused AI processor and rack-scale system based on the company’s TDN Math logarithmic number system. It examines infrastructure requirements for large mixture-of-experts and agentic models, compares major inference architecture approaches, and details the TDN AIP processor, TDN72 pod, TDN Link fabric, and Napier Ultra configuration. The paper reports simulation-based performance, cost, and accuracy-validation results, including Tensordyne’s projected comparison of one Napier rack with a nine-rack Nvidia Rubin plus Groq deployment; the chip is reported as taped out and in fabrication.
