Anthropic Acquires Humanloop Team Amid AI Talent Competition
Anthropic has hired the cofounders and most of the team from the London-based AI startup Humanloop, reports Sifted. This strategic move is part of Anthropic's efforts to bolster its AI capabilities amid increasing competition for AI talent.
Humanloop, founded in 2020 as a spinout from University College London, was known for its enterprise AI platform that enabled large language model evaluations at scale. The startup had previously secured backing from notable venture capital firms such as Y Combinator and Index Ventures.
Anthropic confirmed that it has not acquired Humanloop's intellectual property but has onboarded the startup's three cofounders—CEO Raza Habib, CTO Peter Hayes, and CPO Jordan Burgess—along with most of its engineering and research team. This move aligns with Anthropic's focus on AI safety and building reliable AI systems, as the company continues to expand its presence in the enterprise AI space.
