Aneel Bhusri Returns as CEO of Workday
Workday, Inc. has announced that co-founder and executive chair Aneel Bhusri is returning as chief executive officer, according to a press release. The change is effective immediately as the company begins its fiscal year 2027.
Carl Eschenbach, who has led Workday for the past three years, is stepping down as CEO and as a board member. He will continue to support Bhusri and the company as a strategic advisor to the CEO.
During Eschenbach’s tenure, Workday expanded globally, strengthened operational discipline, and broadened its industry focus. Bhusri said he is returning to lead the company through what he described as one of its most pivotal moments, emphasizing the growing importance of artificial intelligence in shaping the next generation of enterprise software.
