Andhra Pradesh Orders AI Training for 80,000 Teachers
The Andhra Pradesh Government has directed about 80,000 government school teachers handling Classes 6 to 8 to complete an online artificial intelligence course by the end of October, according to The Times of India. The AI Foundations and Literacy program combines the AI Samarth course with selected Bodhan AI learning resources.
The course covers basic AI concepts, machine learning, data literacy, responsible AI use, privacy, security and prompting. It also includes material on lesson planning, differentiated learning, assessments, feedback and student support, plus three live online training sessions.
Teachers must access the course through the LEAP application, complete its learning components and assessment, record their completion status and obtain a certificate. Education officials will monitor enrollment, access, assessments and certification each week during October.
